OUCH Canada Closes

Dear clusterheads and supports

Unfortunately, I bear sad news.  The Board of OUCH-Canada has decided not to renew it non-profit society status and will be closing this message board on October 31, 2006
We should be pleased with the efforts of this organization over the years, but geography, rules and regulations and costs make it unfeasible to continue.

The Board is confident that people seeking assistance with their cluster headache will be able to access the ch.com and the various regional sites to obtain the help they need.  We encourage all of you to watch the boards there for Canadians looking for uniquely Canadian answers.  Yes, we all can still help.

The balance of funds left in our account will be donated to a registered non-profit group as per Revenue Canada regulations.  The Board has recommended that we give this money to a registered Children’s Charity.

Please, do not consider this to be a sad event, we have done some great work and all of you reading this have made OUCH-Canada a special place, one of new friends and new support people.  That should and will never change despite the closure of the message board.  I thank you all for your participation over the years and your support of our efforts with OUCH-Canada.

I would personally like to thank the other Directors, Margi Storey, Bonnie Woods, Tracey Lee and Glen McDonall for their years of service, they have invested many hours in OUCH-Canada and without them OUCH-Canada would never have started.  Thank you all.

The Board would like to extend a special thank you to Dwayne Bakaas for all his work in maintaining the message board over the years; he has done a tremendous job in this and all at no cost to the Society

Regards and best wishes.
Doug Wright
President, OUCH-Canada
